The following galleries include the "Balanced natural rock sculptures", created at Remic Rapids, Ottawa, Canada; 1986-2010. All sculpture are made by hand, balanced, shimmed and temporal. No mechanical devices are required. Individual sculptures range up to 10 feet in height, and depending on river levels, the installation site can measure up to 150 feet in diameter. The project begins in June/July and continues until October/November. The National Capital Commission,a federal agency overseeing public land management and events, has sponsored the project since 2000. Each winter season the sculptures are dismantled naturally by rising river and ice floes.
