Throat singing is an Inuit tradition passed down from woman to woman over generations. It involves making guttural sounds — much like growls and gasps —that imitate animals and the natural world.

Tumbleweed is the husband and wife team of Ian Hanchet (Guitar, Harmonica, Vocals) and Sharon Cheema (Guitar, Ukulele,  Bass Ukulele, Merlin and vocals). They perform music from the singer/songwriter tradition. The CD was concieved as a fund-raiser for the St. James Drop-in Centre which provides dignity and shelter and Music and Art Therapy for homeless and/or marginalized people in Montreal. All proceeds go toward this cause.
