John Felice Ceprano is an international balanced rock sculptor, a painter and a photographer. Born in Rhode Island, NY, John moved to Ottawa, Canada, where he became a well-known rock sculptor. In 1986, he began the practice, "The Art of Balance", a site specific project creating free standing balanced natural rock sculptures 'in situ' at Remic Rapids Park, Ottawa. He received a Canada Council grant in 1989, and continued to receive sponsorship from the National Capital Commission, a federal agency, from 2000 to the present. Under the partnership with the NCC, the "Balanced Rock Sculpture Project", evolved to include music, dance and theater performances upon site as well as daily workshops for the community as well as welcoming tourists to the capital on site every day from June to October.
